52 manually printed tickets for Ahmedabad Flower Show found circulating; FIR filed

Sabarmati: Over 50 manually printed tickets for the Ahmedabad Flower Show 2025 were found circulating among the public who came to visit the event. A total of 27 tickets priced at ₹70 and 25 tickets priced at ₹100 were found, and these tickets were not sold by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

These tickets were allegedly printed after the online sale of tickets had been closed. The AMC has filed an FIR at Riverfront West Police Station, alleging that these tickets were sold in the market with the intention of causing financial harm to the civic body.

The civic body, in an official statement, said: “Entry tickets for the Flower Show are exclusively available online. However, in case of technical issues with the online ticketing system, manual tickets were printed to ensure immediate offline entry if necessary. Since the online ticketing system has been functioning smoothly, there has been no need to provide entry via manual tickets, and no manual tickets have been issued at any counters. Additionally, no visitors have been allowed entry using manual tickets to date.”

“Despite this, on January 9, 2025, some visitors attempted to gain entry using manual tickets. These attempts were intercepted by the ticket validation and scanning agency staff. Following this incident, the General Manager (A&A) filed a police complaint at the Sardar Bridge Police Station against the ticket printing agency, 18 Creation,” the statement added.

A case has been registered under sections 316(2), 312(5), 336(2), 336(3), and 340(2) of the BNS. It is alleged that during a ticket check at the Flower Show entry gate number 4, a total of 52 counterfeit tickets were found with members of the public.

Deepak Patel, General Manager of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, in his complaint, said that on January 9, 2025, around 4 PM, he was present at the Riverfront when staff at the Flower Show entry gate No. 04 found certain printed tickets in the hands of the public. A total of 52 tickets, including 27 cream-colored ₹70 tickets and 25 sky-blue ₹100 tickets, were found.

The complaint also stated that the civic body had outsourced the printing of the tickets to a private agency, 18 Creation Printer. It is suspected that either the owner or the employees of the agency, or some unknown person, obtained the tickets and sold them, causing financial loss to the AMC. The Riverfront West police have started the investigation after lodging the FIR. DeshGujarat
