Wind speed and weather forecast for Gujarat during Uttaryan as per IMD

Ahmedabad: In good news for kite lovers, the weather in Gujarat is expected to be favorable for the Uttaryan and Basi Uttaryan festivals, which will be celebrated on January 14th and 15th.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the latest weather forecast for 14th January states, “Wind speed will be 15 to 20 kmph from northeasterly to easterly direction over Gujarat state.”

The synoptic situation suggests that an induced cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan has weakened, and northeast to easterly winds prevail at lower levels.

For the coming week, dry weather is expected throughout the region. The minimum temperature is forecast to rise by 2-3°C over the next two days, and then fall by 2-3°C thereafter. No significant weather events are expected, and no warnings for cold waves have been issued.
