MoS Home Sanghavi shares update on mega demolition drive in Bet Dwarka

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has cleared illegal encroachments on over 1 lakh square meters of land in Bet Dwarka and the surrounding region, reclaiming land valued at over ₹53 crore. This information was shared by the Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi.

While speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Sanghavi stated that the Gujarat government had cleared massive illegal encroachments, freeing up land reserved for public facilities. A total of 335 illegal encroachments have been removed, including 314 residential encroachments, 9 commercial encroachments, and 12 religious encroachments, he further added.

The total area cleared measures 1,00,642 sq m, with the recovered land valued at ₹53,04,25,500. “Under CM Bhupendra Patel’s leadership, this land will soon host new amenities for the people. A great step towards a better future for all!” Sanghavi said.

It is noteworthy that this drive began on Saturday and has been ongoing since then, with over 1,000 police personnel along with the district administration of Dwarka and Jamnagar districts actively participating in the demolition operation. DehsGujarat
