Gujarat DGP suspends 4 cops for taking unauthorized foreign trip

Ahmedabad: Four policemen have been suspended for undertaking a foreign trip without obtaining mandatory approval from their superiors, Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay announced. Additionally, nine officers are under investigation for unauthorized domestic travel outside Gujarat.

The suspended officials include Firozkhan Pathan, a head constable from Botad; Harvijaysinh Chavda, a constable from Amreli; and Mahipatsinh Chauhan and Mahendrasinh Darbar, constables from Jamnagar. The inquiry into the unauthorized domestic travel of the nine other officers is being led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nirlipt Rai.

These suspensions are part of an ongoing investigation into disproportionate assets involving all 13 officers. During the probe, Rai found that the four officers traveled abroad without prior approval and failed to provide any explanation upon their return. A report on their unauthorized travel was submitted to the DGP, resulting in their suspension. DeshGujarat
