Valsad: In yet another case of adulteration in food products, a customer found fungus in several tubs of Amul Mango Shrikhand purchased from a D Mart in Vashier Valley, Valsad. The customer then filed a complaint with the Food and Drug Department, providing video evidence of the incident.
Ratan Singh Chauhan, a local textile merchant, bought the Shrikhand and other grocery items from the D Mart store on Friday night. Upon returning home, when his family opened a tub of Shrikhand, they found fungus inside. Chauhan checked another similar tub and found fungus there as well. He immediately returned to D Mart and inspected other tubs on the shelves, all of which were also contaminated with fungus.
After receiving no satisfactory response from the store manager, Chauhan purchased all the affected tubs to prevent the store from replacing them. He then filed a complaint with the Food and Drug Department, along with the video evidence. The incident also led to a confrontation with the store manager over the issue of video recording in the store.
The customer stated that if his family had consumed this Srikhand without checking it, it could have had serious consequences. He criticized the negligence of big brands like DMart and Amul, emphasizing that the store manager is also responsible for the proper maintenance of products. DeshGujarat
