Ahmedabad Airport introduces Digi Yatra facility at Terminal 2
January 19, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city launched the Digi Yatra facility at Terminal 2 (T2) on Saturday. The Digi Yatra service was previously available only at Terminal 1, which caters to domestic flights.
While launching the facility, the airport announced, “Now available for all domestic passengers, this smart travel initiative offers a seamless and hassle-free journey. We have started with one gate and will be expanding to more gates in the near future.”
Digi Yatra is a mobile app-based service designed to facilitate contactless, seamless passenger processing at airports through facial recognition technology (FRT).
Passengers can register for the Digi Yatra system through the Digi Yatra online portal or by downloading the Digi Yatra app, available on both iOS and Android devices. After registration, they will be assigned a unique Digi Yatra ID for all future domestic air travel. This ID, linked to the PNR number, securely stores traveler information on the Digi Yatra platform.
The biometric system can verify e-tickets and boarding passes, minimizing the need for physical documents. Passengers without an Aadhar or Digi Yatra ID can check in using biometric verification. The app also offers real-time updates on flight delays and airport congestion. DeshGujarat
