He has no knowledge of history: Nadda on Rahul’s fight against Indian State remark
January 20, 2025
Ahmedabad: BJP national president and Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Sunday accused Congress of undermining the Constitution while in power at the Centre. While speaking at the launch of the Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan, Nadda said that we should take pride in our history and stay cautious of those who have “Khane Ke Daant Aur, Dikhane Ke Aur.” These are the individuals who hold the Constitution in their hands but never truly read it.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s recent remark that his party is fighting the “BJP, RSS, and the Indian State itself,” Nadda said, “You must have heard – Rahul Gandhi says fight against the Indian State. He has neither any knowledge of history nor anything to do with it. I have said it a number of times, he (Rahul Gandhi) gets his speeches written by writers.”
On January 15, Rahul Gandhi had stated that his party was fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State, accusing the ruling establishment of taking control of all institutions.
Nadda urged people to be cautious of Congress leaders, claiming they carry copies of the Constitution but haven’t read them. He criticized them for lacking understanding of their ancestors’ actions and said they should be more knowledgeable about history.
Earlier, Nadda pointed out that while Congress prime ministers had imposed President’s Rule in various states, the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi had only done so in Jammu and Kashmir, and that too after promising elections, which have since been held.
He also highlighted examples of how Congress had altered the Constitution, including the implementation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the imposition of Emergency, constitutional amendments that bypassed judicial review, and the addition of “secular” and “socialist” to the Preamble. Nadda compared these actions to the Modi government’s achievements, such as GST implementation, progress toward a Uniform Civil Code, OBC reservation, women’s reservation, and the ban on triple talaq.
