Ahmedabad DEO serves notice to private school for charging extra fees

Ahmedabad: The District Education Office (DEO) of Ahmedabad has issued a notice to Sakar English School in Chandkheda for collecting fees beyond the approved limits set by the fee regulatory committee.

Following complaints that the school charged Rs 8,000 more than the sanctioned amount, the DEO has demanded fee records from previous academic sessions and details of additional charges for extracurricular activities. The school allegedly collected Rs 39,000 from parents, exceeding the committee-approved fee of Rs 30,870 for Classes 1 to 8.

After investigating and confirming the allegations, Ahmedabad City District Education Officer Rohit Chaudhary issued an official notice to the school. The school management has been instructed to appear in person within five days to explain their actions. DeshGujarat
