No State level alliance with any party for local elections: Gujarat Congress
January 25, 2025
Ahmedabad: The main opposition Congress party will hold the Jay Sardar Yatras across Gujarat to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The yatra will connect the maximum number of talukas with special programmes at Bardoli, Karamsad, Nadiad, and other places.
This decision was announced after the meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of Gujarat Congress held today at the State party headquarters.
A decision was made in the meeting to protest the ongoing demolitions in the State, wherever they are being carried out without serving notice in advance.
A detailed discussion was held on the upcoming elections for 68 municipalities, 1 municipal corporation, 3 taluka panchayats, and more. A decision was taken that in the elections for local bodies, the Congress party will not form any alliance at the State level. No proposal has been made by any party for a State-level alliance. Discussions will be held for local-level alliances on the demand of the local organization, but no alliance will be made at the State level.
The Congress meeting thanked the national leadership of the party for its decision to hold the party’s national convention in Gujarat in the upcoming month of April. DeshGujarat
