Wearing helmet mandatory in Surat; Police to start fining after February 15

Surat: Wearing helmet when on two-wheeler will be mandatory from 15 February in Surat. The city police comissioner made this announcement. He said that in the year 2024, as many as 296 peole died of accidents. Of them 50 were those who were on two-wheeler and weren’t wearign helmet. From 15 February, those withough helmet on two-wheelers will be fined on the road and also through CCTV footage. It’s worth noting that last month the minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi held a meeting with the city police, after which a decision on implementation of helmet wearing rule was announced.
