January 29, 2025
Ahmedabad: A confrontation occurred at the Coldplay concert held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, when a woman was publicly smoking in the standing area, prompting another attendee to intervene. The situation escalated into a physical altercation involving the smoker, her boyfriend, and the woman who had objected to the smoking, along with her family members. Chandkheda police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
Trusha Shah, a university student and resident of Bechraji, who attended the concert with her parents, had purchased tickets for the standing area. When she noticed two women smoking nearby, she requested them to refrain from doing so. Initially, the women ignored her request, but after other attendees also intervened, they moved away. However, they later returned with a male companion and engaged in aggressive behavior, including physical assault, against Trusha and her family. Trusha was reportedly punched in the face. Following the intervention of other attendees who called the police, the perpetrators fled the scene but were later apprehended.
This incident wasn’t isolated. Reports suggest that several other individuals were seen smoking publicly during the concert, causing disturbance and engaging in verbal arguments with those who objected. The police are currently investigating these related incidents as well. DeshGujarat
