– A triple collision occurred near the Kosamba overbridge on National Highway-48 today. A Honda car collided with a tempo, which then hit an Eeco van. The impact caused the vehicles that were going to Surat to jump over the divider and end up on the opposite side of the road. Six people were injured in the accident nut no fatalities were reported.
– Sankheda town observed a bandh demanding the protection of the ancient Arjunath Mahadev Temple. Located on the banks of the Uchchh River on Handod Road, this Pandav-era temple is at risk of submerging due to soil erosion. In July 2022, heavy flooding affected the foundation of the Arjunath Temple. Demanding the construction of a protective wall along the riverbank and submitting a representation to the Sankheda Mamlatdar and Chhota Udepur District Collector two days ago, a bandh was observed today.
– The authorities have launched a mega operation on around 42 islands of Jamnagar and Devbhumi Dwarka to stop any kind of trespassing or illegal activities. Authorities have imposed a ban on access to the uninhabited islands, and the police are conducting inspections to ensure the implementation of the ban.
– The charges have been framed against three accused, including former Home Minister Vipul Chaudhary, in a case related to the embezzlement of Rs. 14.80 crore bonus at Dudh Sagar Dairy. The case, ongoing in the Special ACB court in Ahmedabad, will now proceed to trial.
