Teenager nabbed for kidnapping minor Hindu girl by luring her for marriage in Surat

Surat: A teenage Muslim boy was nabbed by Sarthana Police for allegedly kidnapping and harassing a 16-year-old Hindu girl. The accused, who previously resided in the same society as the minor girl, reportedly lured her with promises of marriage.

As per the information from the police, the family of the girl resides in the Sarthana area and runs a pani puri stall. The accused boy, who lived in their society, was a frequent visitor to their home. He befriended the girl and promised to marry her and allegedly eloped with her on February 9, 2025, after which the girl’s family approached the police. The boy had taken the girl to Udhna Railway Station, where Sarthana police caught the pair within hours of the complaint being filed.

The accused has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and molestation. The victim’s family has filed a formal complaint, and the Sarthana police are continuing their investigation into the matter. DeshGujarat
