Ahmedabad: Shakti Vidya Vihar High School, a private school in the Isanpur area of the city, has come under scrutiny for allegedly constructing a permanent structure on government land without approval. A fine of ₹5 lakh has been imposed on the school for constructing a building on government land in Survey No. 53.
The action was taken after the Mamlatdar officer informed the office of the Ahmedabad City District Education Officer (DEO). The Mamlatdar has ordered the demolition of the illegal structure within 30 days.
Meanwhile, Ahmedabad City DEO Rohit Chaudhary has scheduled a hearing on Saturday to determine the fate of the structure. The school administration must present valid proof of authorization for the concrete-roofed building.
The issue surfaced after a report by the Talati highlighted illegal construction on government land in Mankhurd. An inquiry revealed that the site contained permanent walls, pillars, and rooms, all part of Shakti Vidyavihar School. Further investigation identified the school’s operator, Manoj Tiwari, as responsible for the unauthorized construction. DeshGujarat
