February 17, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that it will purchase gram and raida (mustard) crops from farmers in all districts at Minimum Support Prices (MSP) in the near future.
For this, farmers must register online free of cost on NAFED’s e-Samriddhi portal through VCEs at e-Gram Kendras at the village level from February 18, 2025, to March 9, 2025. Following registration, the procurement of gram and raida will begin at various purchasing centers from March 14, 2025, according to a press note issued by the Joint Director of Agriculture.
To ensure that farmers receive fair prices for their produce, Agriculture Minister Raghavjibhai Patel has announced a plan to procure gram and raida at MSP. The support price has been set at Rs. 5,650 per quintal for gram and Rs. 5,950 per quintal for raida.
Notably, when market prices fall below the MSP, the state government has decided to purchase gram and raida under the PM-AASHA (Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan) scheme of the Government of India through the Price Support Scheme (PSS).
