Gujarat local body elections 2025: 61.65% voter turnout in 66 municipalities; 44.32% in JMC

Gandhinagar: Voting was held on Sunday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm for the general/mid-term elections of Junagadh Municipal Corporation, 68 municipalities, Gandhinagar, Kathlal, and Kapadvanj Taluka Panchayats, as well as the by-elections for several vacant seats in local governance bodies across the state.
As per the press statement issued by the State Election Commission, the preliminary estimate of voter turnout percentage figures is are as follows:

The State Election Commission also stated that the voting process was conducted peacefully overall. No untoward incidents occurred, and no re-polling was required at any polling station.
The counting of votes will begin at 9:00 am on 18-02-2025. Since the elections were conducted using electronic voting machines, the results will be announced by noon. DeshGujarat
