ACB Gujarat nabs one in decoy trap in bribe case

Surat: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested  one Pratik Kailash Sasane in a successful decoy operation at Lajpore Central Jail on Monday. The accused was caught accepting a ₹1,000 bribe at telephone booth no. 19 in the prison’s meeting room.

According to ACB officials, bribes ranging from ₹500 to ₹2,000 were being demanded for facilitating meetings between inmates and their relatives, while amounts between ₹10,000 and ₹1,00,000 were sought to prevent prisoners from being moved to high-security barracks. Acting on a tip-off about these bribes, the ACB set up a decoy operation. Sasane accepted the bribe in the presence of a panch witness and was caught red-handed. DeshGujarat
