AMTS issues tender for whitewashing bus roofs to mitigate summer heat

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) prepares a heat action plan each year before summer. This year, to mitigate the heat, the AMC-run Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has issued a tender to apply white paint on bus roofs during the summer.

The tender also includes installing green nets, air coolers, and fans at city bus terminals, with submissions open until March 4. AMC’s summer action plan generally includes setting up green nets at traffic junctions, keeping parks open in the afternoon, and restricting construction work between 12 pm and 4 pm. DeshGujarat
