Video of AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava dancing with a bootlegger goes viral

Surat: A controversy erupted after a video of AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava dancing with a bootlegger in Surat went viral on social media. At an event in Amroli of Surat, Vasava was seen dancing with a known bootlegger, Budho alias Budhiyo, from Kamrej Panthak. The video of the Dediapada MLA dancing with the bootlegger quickly spread online, prompting Vasava to issue a clarification.

The incident occurred on Sunday (March 2) when Chaitar Vasava attended the wedding of his friend’s sister in Surat. After dinner, the bride invited him to dance, and Vasava joined in with his friends. During the celebration, another person joined the dance, and it was only later that everyone realized he was a well-known bootlegger from Kamrej.

Clarifying his stance, MLA Chaitar Vasava stated that the bootlegger had joined the dance during the wedding but had no connection with him. “We have no acquaintance with this person and have never met before. Since there were a large number of people at the wedding, he happened to join in, but we were completely unaware of his identity. We have always advocated for liquor prohibition and have opposed all those involved in the liquor trade,” he said.

Vasava further alleged that he later learned the bootlegger is an active member of the BJP. DeshGujarat
