Kutch: In a continued crackdown on drug smuggling along the coastal belt of Kutch, security agencies recovered seven more unclaimed packets of charas near Pingleswar Landing Point on Sunday. This marks the fourth consecutive day of narcotics recovery in the region, bringing the total haul to 21 packets worth approximately ₹10.5 crore.
Acting on a tip-off and under the directive of the West Kutch Superintendent of Police, a joint team comprising Jakhau Police, the Special Operations Group (SOG), and the State Intelligence Bureau (IB) conducted extensive foot patrols along the shoreline. During the patrol, seven suspicious packets were found floating in the waters near Kaduli Bara, east of the landing point. Initial tests confirmed the substance as charas. Forensic experts have been called to ascertain the precise quantity and quality of the seized narcotics, which are valued at around ₹3.5 crore.
This latest seizure adds to the 14 charas packets recovered over the past three days. With no ownership established so far, authorities are intensifying their investigation to trace the source and possible smuggling routes. DeshGujarat
