Kutch: NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has officially commenced commercial operations at its solar power plant in Khavda, located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The company has launched the first phase of the Khavda-I Solar PV Project with an initial capacity of 110.25 MW, as part of its ambitious 1,255 MW solar initiative.

The Khavda-I project is part of a broader renewable energy mission led by NTPC Green Energy in the Kutch region. In 2021, the company announced plans to develop a 4,750 MW solar park in the Rann of Kutch. The execution of this project is being managed by NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.

NTPC, India’s largest power producer and a central public sector enterprise, has accelerated its transition to green energy over the past five years. It aims to build a 60 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2032, collaborating with both public and private sector entities through power supply and purchase agreements. DeshGujarat
