July 24, 2025
Gandhinagar: Techfin hubs are rapidly becoming the biggest job creators in GIFT City here, with HCL Technologies Ltd becoming the latest such name. Following tech giants like Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant, which have either established centres there or plan to do so, the company has proposed to set up a techfin hub at GIFT City with around 1,500 employees, a news report said.
According to its application to the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), HCL Technologies intends to employ around 1,500 people at its upcoming centre in GIFT City. This will be HCL’s first such centre in Gujarat, with operational funding sourced directly from its head office.
The company aims to support its global financial services clients from this upcoming branch in the state.
Notably, IFSCA has cleared applications from at least 18 fintech and techfin firms planning to establish operations in GIFT City so far. In the latest, Infosys Ltd recently began operations at its development centre on June 7. The new facility, established with an investment of Rs 32 crore, is poised to create employment opportunities for over 1,000 professionals.
Earlier, Cognizant had opened its own centre in May 2025 to serve its global BFSI clients. Initially employing 600 people, Cognizant plans to scale this workforce up to 2,000 over the next three years. DeshGujarat
