Ahmedabad: After heavy rain during the last weekend, the clouds have become less wrathful over Gujarat. According to the latest forecast by the weather department, over the next few days, the state is likely to see only light to moderate rain.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has stated that light to moderate rain is likely to occur across all districts of Gujarat till August 5. However, during the next 48 hours, all districts in the state may also witness light thunderstorms with lightning and surface wind speeds of 30–40 kmph, accompanied by light to moderate rain.
As per the IMD, yesterday’s low-pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring regions has become less marked. However, the associated cyclonic circulation persists over northwest Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and tilting southwestward with height.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Sikar, Datia, Sidhi, Ranchi, Digha, and then extends east-southeastward to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Rajasthan and neighbouring areas at about 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Additionally, a trough runs from northwest Madhya Pradesh to the northeast Bay of Bengal across Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Bangladesh at about 0.9 km above mean sea level.
Yesterday’s trough from the northeast Arabian Sea to south Bangladesh has also become less marked. DeshGujarat
