Gujarat Congress to launch Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan 2.0 to appoint Taluka, Town, Ward Presidents

Gandhinagar: The main opposition Congress party in Gujarat today announced Sangathan Srijan Programme 2.0 for the appointment of Taluka Presidents, Town Presidents (for municipalities), and Ward Presidents (for wards in Municipal Corporations).

Addressing a press conference at state party headquarters, Gujarat Congress chief Amit Chavda said after the appointment of 41 city/district presidents through the Sangathan Srijan model, the next shall be the time-bound exercise to appoint party presidents for Talukas, Towns, and Wards.

Chavda said this is for the first time that such a time-bound exercise is being held, and all appointments will be made by 20th August in order to kick off the ‘go to people’ campaign after that. Chavda said the decision is in line with the Anand shibir, which was also attended by party leader Rahul Gandhi for four hours last month. He said the exercise under Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan 2.0 will be carried out during 2nd to 10th of August, and observers will tour across the State to hear the cadres and select the panels of names.

Under 2.0, the candidates to be selected will be only below 55 years. They must have worked in party for last five years dedicatedly. Educated people will be given priority. Those who are on the posts for last five years will be replaced. The report by observers will be presented to the State party unit after 10th of August and the entire procedure will be completed by 20th August. The observers will also hold review of taluka level party organization and also identify those who can be promoted from Taluka to district level and district to state level. DeshGujarat
