One Month Traffic Diversion in Ahmedabad for Bullet Train Project Works

Ahmedabad: Construction of the bullet train corridor between Sabarmati and Vatva in Ahmedabad is currently underway as part of the Government of India’s high-speed rail project. The segment installation work on the pillars, already erected near the Acharyashree Mahapragyaji Railway Overbridge in Shahibaug is being carried out by Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. This work will continue day and night (24×7) from July 31 to September 1, 2025.

Due to this activity, traffic movement over the Acharyashree Mahapragyaji Overbridge—between Namaste Circle and Rajasthan Hospital—will remain closed during this period. Ahmedabad Police have issued alternate routes for commuters:

Alternate routes for 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and 4-wheelers:

  • Vehicles coming from Rajasthan Hospital via Ghewra Circle and heading to Namaste Circle can go via the road beneath the bridge, passing Shanidev Mandir, Shahibaug underpass, and the old Police Commissioner’s office.

  • Vehicles heading towards Rajasthan Hospital from Namaste Circle can travel via the old Police Commissioner’s office, Shahibaug underpass, Nagpal Hospital, and take a U-turn at Sardar Patel Smarak to reach the destination through the road beside the overbridge.

Route for heavy vehicles:

  • Heavy vehicles from Rajasthan Hospital heading toward Namaste Circle must go below the overbridge via the adjacent service road, take a left at the four-road junction, proceed to Mahakali Mandir Circle, turn right to Babu Jagjivan Ram Railway Overbridge, then continue via Idgah Circle, Dariyapur Circle, and Delhi Darwaza.

Citizens are requested to take note of the traffic diversions and cooperate during the construction period. DeshGujarat
