Gujarat CM meets PM Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today traveled to the national capital and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

Tweeting about the meeting, the CM said, “The meeting with the world’s most popular leader, India’s successful Prime Minister, the respected Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi was filled with energy. Discussed various dimensions of Gujarat’s all-round development with him. Received his invaluable suggestions for the development of industry and the social sector in the state. The Prime Minister has given top priority to the welfare of the common man in every welfare scheme. With the approach of ‘saturation,’ guidance was received from him to ensure that the benefits of central and state schemes reach every last beneficiary swiftly.”

Sources indicate that the discussions might have included the long-pending appointment of the Gujarat BJP’s new state president and the much-awaited expansion of the state cabinet.

After months of delay, the process to elect the new Gujarat BJP president appears to be gaining momentum. On Friday afternoon in New Delhi, BJP national president J.P. Nadda, national general secretary (organization) B.L. Santhosh, and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav—who has been appointed as observer for the Gujarat BJP presidential election—held a meeting. It was reportedly decided that the election process should be completed at the earliest.

With Chief Minister Patel’s visit to Delhi, significant developments on this front are expected in the coming days. According to media reports, once the new state president is officially announced, the party will move forward with the long-delayed cabinet reshuffle. DeshGujarat
