Watch | A deadly road divider in Ahmedabad that saves trees but harms people

Ahmedabad: A widened and uneven road divider, made to preserve trees, is turning out to be a cause of accidents on the road opposite Prerna Tirth Derasar near Abhijyoti Residency.

Local residents point out that the irregular shape of the divider creates a blind spot for vehicles coming from behind, especially when there is a vehicle ahead. This increases the risk of collisions and overturning.

Recently, CCTV footage of an accident at this very spot surfaced, supporting residents’ concerns about the danger posed by the divider’s design. The accident occurred on August 1 at around 12:33 pm, when a sedan overturned after hitting the divider, as the driver was blinded by the divider’s alignment. The car ended up completely upside down, and a biker passing nearby also lost his balance and fell. DeshGujarat
