Gandhinagar: A key meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held today at the party’s state headquarters, Kamalam, as part of preparations for the upcoming Tiranga Yatra and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
The meeting was attended by campaign in-charge and Khajuraho MP from Madhya Pradesh, VD Sharma, along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, BJP vice-president Bharat Boghra, state general secretary (organization) Ratnakar, MLAs, and party office-bearers.
Discussions centered on the execution of the Tiranga Yatra and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign ahead of Independence Day on August 15. Each leader was assigned specific responsibilities to ensure the success of the initiative.
Addressing the gathering, VD Sharma said that workshops for the nationwide campaign are being organized at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We are conducting this workshop in Gujarat today, where preparations are already underway. Tiranga Yatras will be organized at every mandal and booth level across the state. Not only political leaders but also members of civil society will participate,” he stated.
Sharma added that the campaign aims to showcase the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ at the grassroots level. “This campaign aims to take the national flag to every household in Gujarat. Youths residing in border areas will be honored, and significant events from August 14, 1947 — including the Pakistan-led massacres — will be showcased,” he said.
Detailed planning for the Tiranga Yatra was carried out during the meeting, including strategies to distribute the tricolour to every home across the state.
However, despite instructions for full attendance, over 30 BJP MLAs were reportedly absent from the meeting. Some MPs were also not present. Notably, absentees included Gujarat Minister Bachubhai Khabad and young legislators such as Kalpesh Thakor, Jayesh Radadiya, and Hardik Patel — whose absence was seen as significant. DeshGujarat
