Gujarat sends Special Relief Train to flood-hit Punjab with essential supplies

Gandhinagar: To assist people affected by the heavy rains and floods in Punjab, the Gujarat government has arranged a special relief train carrying essential supplies to the state. The train, consisting of 22 wagons, departed from Gandhinagar Railway Station and is loaded with 400 tons of food items including flour, onions, potatoes, rice, edible oil, sugar, and milk powder.
In addition, the train carries 10,000 mats, 10,000 mosquito nets, 10,000 bedsheets, and around 70 tons of medicines to meet the immediate needs of flood-affected people.
Earlier, Gujarat had also sent financial assistance of ₹5 crore each to the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Chhattisgarh to support flood relief efforts. For the affected areas in Chhattisgarh, around 8,000 relief kits containing essential items have been dispatched.
