Vapi Trader Booked in ₹25 Crore GST Evasion Case
September 17, 2025
Vapi: The GST department has arrested Vipul Kantilal Dhami, owner of Amizara Traders operating in Vapi, Surat, and Vasai, for allegedly evading ₹24.91 crore in GST. The action was taken following an investigation conducted by GST officials on September 4 and 5, 2025.
According to GST department sources, during the investigation, it was revealed that Amizara Traders, which deals in plastic disposable items, maintained dual accounts. One account was recorded in the regular Tally software for GST purposes, while a parallel account on a cloud-based platform tracked cash transactions. Officials stated that the trader secretly used special “kachha chalan” to dispatch goods. Furthermore, the business was managed from unregistered locations in Palghar and Vapi to avoid GST scrutiny.
GST officials conducted raids on registered offices and warehouses in Vapi, Surat, and Vasai. During the raids, they seized digital and physical evidence, excess stock, and details of cash-based transactions from suppliers without proper bills.
Based on all evidence, Vipul Kantilal Dhami, in his statement on September 5, 2025, admitted to supplying goods worth ₹138.43 crore clandestinely, on which ₹24.91 crore GST was not paid. Due to this serious offense, he was arrested under Sections 132(1)(a) and 132(5) read with Section 135 of the CGST Act, 2017. These offenses are cognizable and non-bailable. He was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Vapi on September 15, 2025. DeshGujarat
