Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually laid the foundation stone for the 100 MW AVAADA Solar Power Project in Vasantpura village of Savli taluka, Vadodara district. The project, valued at an estimated ₹400 crore, is set to become the largest of its kind in the region and is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for nearly 300 people.
According to AVAADA, the solar plant will feature advanced bifacial solar panels designed to maximize energy output by capturing sunlight from both sides. The company has targeted a six-month completion timeline for the project. The Vasantpura location was chosen for its high solar radiation potential, ensuring efficient power generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Savli MLA Ketan Inamdar lauded the initiative, emphasizing the benefits it will bring to the local community and farmers. He encouraged farmers to explore opportunities in solar power and adopt innovative business models to secure long-term sustainability for future generations.
“This project is not only an investment in clean energy but also in the development of our region. It will provide significant opportunities for farmers and local youth,” Inamdar said, while expressing hope for more renewable energy ventures in Savli.
The ceremony was attended by District Panchayat President Gayatriba Mahida, Taluka President Geetaben Solanki, SDM Ronak Shah, Mamlatdar Jignesh Patel, AVAADA Gujarat State Head Shailendra Mishra, Site Head Mayur Bambhaniya, and other dignitaries, along with local villagers.
The project marks one more step toward strengthening Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity and supporting India’s broader clean energy mission.DeshGujarat
