November 11, 2025
Valsad: In a crackdown on illegal immigrants, the Special Operations Group (SOG) team of Valsad police arrested a Bangladeshi national from Vapi for entering India without valid travel documents.
The SOG team, on routine patrol in Vapi, noticed a suspicious man identified as Farooq Sheikh. During questioning, he gave inconsistent and misleading responses in Hindi, raising the team’s suspicion.
Following intensive interrogation, the man admitted his real identity as Mohammad Farooq Hussain Miah, 40, a resident of Brahmanbaria in Bangladesh. Police recovered a Bangladeshi government-issued National ID card from him, confirming his citizenship. It was established that he had been residing in India illegally without a passport or visa.
The Valsad SOG has initiated legal proceedings against Miah, and the process for his deportation has begun. Authorities said such operations will continue regularly to identify and act against foreign nationals residing illegally in the state. DeshGujarat
