Cooler Monday in Gujarat as Mercury Dips; Vadodara Coldest Among Major Cities

Ahmedabad: Gujarat witnessed a notably cooler morning on Monday, with minimum temperatures dipping below normal at several stations, according to the 0830 IST weather report issued today.
Ahmedabad registered a maximum temperature of 29.7°C, which is 3.5°C below normal, while the minimum settled at 14.8°C, nearly 2°C below normal. Relative humidity stood at 47% in the morning and 26% by evening yesterday.
Vadodara recorded one of the steepest drops, with the minimum temperature falling to 12.4°C — 5.3°C below normal — while its maximum touched 29.8°C.
State capital Gandhinagar was also as cold as Vadodara, with a minimum temperature of 12.8°C and a maximum of 30.2°C.
In Saurashtra and Kutch, most cities also reported cooler-than-usual conditions. Rajkot logged a maximum of 31.7°C (2°C below normal) and a minimum of 14.0°C, nearly 4°C below normal. Bhuj recorded 32.0°C (–1.3°C from normal) and a minimum of 15.2°C. As usual, signalling that much colder days are ahead, Naliya in Bhuj witnessed the coldest night at 10.8°C.
In South Gujarat, Surat was not much affected by the cold due to its coastal location. It recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4°C, while the maximum was 31.8°C.
Other coastal cities, including Bhavnagar, Veraval, Porbandar, and Okha, also reported mild temperature drops, with no precipitation. Humidity levels varied widely across stations, ranging from 44% to 80% in the morning readings.
