Ahmedabad: The West Deputy Collector of Ahmedabad city has declared the sale of nine bungalows in Nutan Sarvodaya Society in the Paldi area illegal. This action follows a complaint filed by Ellisbridge MLA Amit P. Shah, who alleged that the transfer of these nine bungalows was carried out in violation of the Disturbed Areas Act.
A hearing and subsequent investigation were conducted by the Mamlatdar, after which the transfer was officially declared illegal. According to the order, the properties must be returned to the original owners within six months, and the buyers are required to refund the compensation paid.
According to the MLA, the nine bungalows in Paldi’s Nutan Sarvodaya Society were purchased by Mustufamiya Husainmiya Sheikh, prompting concerns about violations of the Disturbed Areas Act. After reviewing the case and hearing both parties, the Collector declared the transfer void and directed that the properties be restored to the original owners, accompanied by a full refund of the compensation amount.
“Hindu organizations in Ellisbridge had approached us with a representation. Following this, an investigation was conducted, and complaints were submitted to the District Collector, as well as representations made to the Chief Minister and Home Minister. Finally, the sentiments of the people have prevailed,” Shah told the media. DeshGujarat
