Key areas in West Zone of Ahmedabad declared as cattle-free zones
November 19, 2025
Ahmedabad: Several high-footfall and high-traffic locations in the West Zone of the city have been declared as “cattle-free zones” with immediate effect, as per an order issued by the city police chief.
The order by City Police Commissioner G.S. Malik, effective from midnight on November 19, aims to curb the issue of stray cattle, which has caused multiple road accidents, injuries, and even fatalities in the past.
According to the notification, areas such as Bhairavwas, Shivam Vegetable Market, Nirnaynagar Garnala, Old Ranip, Sardar Patel Stadium, and the Naranpura Sports Complex surroundings have been designated as completely no-cattle zones.
This directive follows an earlier mandate requiring all cattle owners to register their livestock with the AMC. DeshGujarat
