Gujarat Health Secretary Extends Medical Tourism Offer to UK Astrophysicist

Gandhinagar: In a compassionate gesture, Dhananjay Dwivedi, IAS Officer and Health Secretary of Gujarat, extended assistance to a UK scientist facing delays for his son’s dental treatment.

Astrophysicist Peter Hague shared on X (formerly Twitter) his predicament and wrote, “My son needs a dental operation. We have a private dentist (cannot get an NHS one) for regular visits and small procedures but they can’t do big operations. So we go with the public sector. I’ve just been on the phone and was told the waiting list is 1 to 2 years. Not months. Years. This is some Soviet BS. I need to find some way to get this done without depending on our failed state.”

Responding to Hague, Dhananjay Dwivedi wrote, “Have you given a thought to touring India for sight seeing while your son’s dental process is taken care off by experts? We have facilities at par with the best in the world and no queues. And if you choose to come to Gujarat, I will facilitate ( am Health Secretary, Gujarat).”

This offer highlights Gujarat’s advanced healthcare infrastructure and the senior government official taking personal initiative to promote medical tourism while providing timely treatment for international patients. DeshGujarat
