CM Bhupendra Patel Shifts Jamnagar Event Venue to Ensure Local Wedding Proceeds Smoothly

Jamnagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel shifted the venue of a scheduled public event in Jamnagar after a local family expressed concern that security arrangements for the programme might disrupt their daughter’s wedding planned at the same location a day earlier.

According to officials, the Parmar family of Jamnagar had booked the city’s town hall for the wedding of Sanjana Parmar on 23 November 2025. Preparations were underway when the family learned that the Chief Minister’s public programme was scheduled at the same venue on 24 November. The accompanying security deployment and restrictions in the area raised apprehensions that the wedding ceremony could be affected.

The family conveyed their concern to the Chief Minister’s Office. Upon being informed of the situation, Chief Minister Patel instructed officials to shift his programme to another venue. “Change the venue of our programme. The concern of the daughter’s family is our concern,” he is learnt to have said.

Relatives of the bride expressed relief after receiving the assurance. “As soon as the Chief Minister came to know about our wedding, he spoke to us and reassured us,” said Brijesh Parmar, the bride’s uncle. “Finding a new venue immediately during the wedding season, informing guests and making fresh arrangements would have been difficult for us. But after the Chief Minister’s call, we were able to sleep peacefully that night.”

The family said the decision allowed the wedding to go ahead at the originally planned time and location without disruption.
