One-way road leading to Surat Railway Station shut for traffic
November 25, 2025
Surat: The city police have issued a notice regarding the closure of a 200-meter stretch of the one-way road from Varachha Road Garnala towards Surat Station. The closure is due to ongoing construction work for the Surat Multi-Modal Transportation Hub (MMTH) project, with SITCO undertaking bridge construction at the site.
The road will remain closed from Monday for an indefinite period. Authorities have warned that the closure may lead to traffic congestion extending up to 2 km. Commuters are expected to face delays, as alternative routes, including LH Garnala Road—already closed due to metro work—and the narrow Poddar Arcade Road, will require vehicles to take a detour of nearly 1 km.
The Surat Traffic Police have deployed personnel to manage traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to commuters. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly. DeshGujarat
