Vadodara: A tragic accident occurred this morning near Dumad Chowkdi on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai National Highway (NH 48) in Vadodara. The incident took place on the main highway connecting Dumad to the GSFC bridge, within the jurisdiction of Chhani Police Station.

A tempo vehicle reportedly overturned, jumped the divider, and landed on the opposite side of the road. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot, while his pillion rider sustained injuries. Both were young delivery workers transporting goods.

The deceased has been identified as Kalpeshbhai Jayantibhai Mali (21), a resident of Dodka, Vadodara. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Another young man, Kiran Makwana, who was traveling alongside Kalpeshbhai, was injured in the accident and was immediately admitted to Sayaji Hospital for treatment.

Chhani Police Station has registered a case, and further legal proceedings are currently underway.
