Toll Tax Hike on Vadodara–Halol–Shamlaji and Tarapur–Vasad Routes
May 02, 2026
Ahmedabad: Just after the conclusion of local body elections in the state, the Gujarat government has increased toll charges on roads operated under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, with revisions ranging between approximately 5% and 15%.
Notably, private vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans, along with two-wheelers, three-wheelers and GSRTC buses, continue to remain exempt from toll payment on these roads.
As per the revised rates, the toll for a two-axle truck on the Vadodara–Halol stretch has been increased to Rs 245, while light commercial vehicles (LCVs) will be charged Rs 135. On the Halol–Godhra route, LCVs will pay Rs 120 and trucks Rs 240. Similarly, on the Halol–Shamlaji road, LCV toll has been fixed at Rs 470 and truck charges at Rs 930.
On the Godhra–Lunawada section, LCVs will be charged Rs 115 and trucks Rs 230. Between Lunawada and Modasa, the toll for LCVs has been set at Rs 305, while on the Modasa–Shamlaji route, LCVs will pay Rs 155 and trucks Rs 180. On the Tarapur–Vasad section, LCVs will be charged Rs 120 and trucks Rs 245.
Notably, toll revisions are typically implemented annually from April 1. However, this year’s hike was deferred amid the local body elections. With the elections now over, the revised toll rates have come into effect, adding to the cost burden on commercial vehicle operators. DeshGujarat
