Rail traffic to and from Saurashtra in Gujarat will resume today, after three days halt due to damage in tracks after heavy rains and flood.

According to Railway sources in Rajkot, round the clock repairing work was on for last three days near Sambli station. Emergency lights were set up to facilitate repairs in the nights. Hopes were high that major trains like Veraval-Jabalpur and Saurashtra mail would resume from today only.

Due to flood in Surendranagar and Ahmedabad districts, 19 trains were canceled yesterday while 8 trains were canceled day before yesterday. Bhavnagar and Rajkot divisions were worst affected and all the trains of this divisions were canceled. Some trains to Saurashtra from Mumbai were terminated at Ahmedabad.

“From tomorrow, rail traffic will completely normalize” Western Railway sources said.
