Ambaji Shaktipeeth Corridor Project: Phase-2 Anti-Encroachment Drive Begins

Ambaji: Authorities on Monday launched the second phase of an anti-encroachment drive in Ambaji as part of the proposed Shaktipeeth Corridor project, clearing illegal structures from revenue and gram panchayat land across four designated zones.

The operation, being carried out under the supervision of senior district officials, involves the removal of more than 30 major encroachments, along with several smaller structures. The drive is aimed at facilitating the ongoing development of the Shaktipeeth Corridor, a key infrastructure project planned around the Ambaji temple town.

More than 500 administrative and police personnel have been deployed for the operation, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar, Police Inspector (PI), and other senior officials. Authorities have also deployed a large police contingent to maintain law and order during the exercise.

Heavy machinery, including JCB excavators and tractors, is being used to demolish and remove the encroachments. Officials said the operation is being conducted simultaneously at four locations identified for clearance under the corridor project.

The latest action follows an earlier phase of the anti-encroachment campaign, during which 85 encroachments were removed from the Rabari Vas area to make way for the proposed corridor.

Officials said the Shaktipeeth Corridor project is progressing at a rapid pace, and the ongoing clearance drive is a crucial step towards ensuring the timely execution of the development works. DeshGujarat
