Almost all the major and dominant organisations of southern Gujarat city Surat have joined hand to announce a one day strike in the city on Monday, protesting rap on a city girl by three Muslim youths Shahid Saiyad, Tareek Saiyad and Abu Bakar, two of them from Police family.
The strike call has been supported by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Surat Diamond Association, School-College parents association, Mahagujarat Janata Party, local chamber and many other organisations.
“Our daughters go out freely, thanks to good law and order in Gujarat. If something like this happens in which three boys kidnap a girl from road side to rape her, our daughters will no more remain safe. We have to protest such incident in strongest possible manner,” said an angry parent in Athwa lines area of the city.

The strike is not solution. A similar incident of abducting a young pair, subduing the male and gang-raping the female happened in Noida in Jan of this year. And, if I recall correctly, in Panvel in Apr 2007. It seems certain mindsets that classify girls and women as “loose” and “available” if they are seen enjoying coupledom may be partly to blame for these incidents. If rape is viewed as a crime against “honour”, then those perceived as having no honour, as defined by conservative patriarchal society, will be considered easy targets. More people need to stop defining rape socially as a “dishonour” and an “outrage of modesty”, and start seeing it as the excruciatingly painful, intensely personal violation that it is. And they need to stop viewing being in love as a crime.
A strike is only going to hurt us. Only the garib or the day-to-day bread earners are going to go hungry because of the loss of their daily wages.
Most of the times the strike call becomes an occassion to instigate riots as was found in Radhabai Chawl during Mumbai riots started by the Goondaraj Kangress party workers. Therefore by giving a call for a strike, you are giving an open field to goondaraj Kangress to enforce crimes on their enemies.
Our goal and purpose is to PROTEST in the severest terms against this kind of inhuman behavior, and not to spew hatred. Therefore, under such situations the best way to protest is to strike at the root of the cause of such lunatic madness comes from the west. The best way to PROTEST is to ban airing of T.V. programs for a day or until the justice is served by the cable T.V. operators. Stop the cinema houses until the culprits are proven guilty. Bajrang dal should ensure that there is no sale of any entertainment DVDs or ANY entertainment programs on the T.V. channels except this coverage of public opinion against those three terrorists.
DON’T SPARE THESE CULPRITS. Because they are going back to their breeding ground for crimes against girls and women under the influence of long dead and enslaved chauvinist religion of Islam under western Christianity.
Before the goondaraj Sonia Nehru, or the media brigade of Mullahs, Marxists and Missionaries comes to the rescue of these culprits, kidnap them, and let our BRAVE girl give the sentence for their punishment in whichever way she likes, and take their video and show it to the entire chauvinist Muslim clan to remember before encouraging their beasts to commit crime against humanity.
I smell some Kangressi conspiracy into this well-planned crime. I wonder if the goondaraj Kangress is hatching some dirty tricks again, like they repeated during the Godhra carnage case, or the 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom?
