If Kashmir had Sufism intact,it would be free from terrorism:Modi
Ahmedabad, 20 November, 2010

“People generally believe that terrorists kicked out Hindus out of Kashmir. But this happened aftwerwards. Terrorists had first attacked and kicked out Sufi tradition there. If Sufi tradition was intact in Kashmir, terrorism could not born there. Sufi words have power, Sufi tradition has that power,” Gujarat Chief Minsiter Narendra Modi said yesterday in Ahmedabad.

He was speaking at inauguration ceremony of Sufi music festival inside city’s Sarkhej Roza campus. The campus houses medieval Jama mosque, dargah of three Muslim Sultans, a tank, and old palace structure.

Dressed in Pathani, Modi also inaugurated an exhibition hall of Sarkhej Roza.

Modi had visited this campus earlier too, along with then President of India Shri A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.

Modi said liberal attitude is needed in today’s time. He also talked about need to conserve our heritage, stating that Gujarat tops in the country in criteria of presence of highest heritage structures in per square mile area.
