Teesta’s bail plea hearing on 10 February in Godhra court
Ahmedabad, 31 January, 2011

Gujarat’s Godhra court today decided 10 February date for hearing on Teesta Setalvad’s anticipatory bail plea.
Fearing her arrest, Mumbai based controversial NGO operator Teesta Setalvad had last week filed anticipatory bail plea in Gujarat’s Godhra court.
The application for the anticipatory bail was filed by Teesta’s counsel A A Hasan in a Godhra court on Thursday.
Teesta is likely to be arrested in connection with exhumation of bodies of riot victims in Lunawada. The Pandharwada massacre took place during the 2002. The grave was dug up in December 2005 without legal procedure. Nine accused have been arrested in this issue including Setalvad’s one-time close aide Rais Khan Pathan have been arrested since last month after Gujarat High Court lifted a stay on the investigation in the case. The stay was granted as two accused in the case had moved the high court urging that the offense against them be quashed.
