On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Shri Somnath mandir was today decorated with LED lights and special types of flowers. Two big LED screens were put in the Somnath mandir complex to avail live darshan, puja and shringar to more people. Not only in Somnath, but at other places such Rajkot and Vadodara also such LED screens were put to avail live darshan of Shri Somnath Shivalinga.

Chairman of Shri Somnath Trust Shri Keshubhai Patel inaugurated first phase of Sagar darsha atithi gruh with facility of 32 rooms.

Five wheelchairs for weak and old-age people gifted by TV9 channel were dedicated.

A touch screen kiosk with details on Shri Somnath mandir, its history, tourist complex, places to visit etc was opened today.

Shri Keshubhai Patel and Mahant of Tulsi Shyam performed puja of dhaja of mandir. MLA Kamabhai Rathod was present on this occasion.

Thousands of pilgrims halted at specially set up ‘ren basera’ where beds on cheap rates were offered for brief stay.

Various oganizations from Delhi and Gujarat offered free fruits, tea, coffee, milk and butter milk to thousands of pilgrims.

A number of TV channels showed live telecast of Shri Somnath mandir garbh griha throughout the day.

A religious procession was organized in which bhajan group, raas mandali and music performers were also present.

Agriculture university had set up a stall to guide the farmers for better yield of crops.

Exel crop care guided the farmers through audio visual medium.

Musical drama and lok dayro events took place in the evening.
