43 environmental clearance proposals from Gujarat pending in Delhi

As many as 43 proposals from the state of Gujarat are presently pending for environmental clearance in Delhi before the Environment and Forest ministry.
Central minister of state (independent charge) for Environment and Forests smt Jayanthi Natarajan said in Rajya Sabha in a reply.
In her answer, the minister said, “a total of 832 proposals received from various States, including 43 proposals received from the State of Gujarat are pending for environmental clearance.”
“Project proponents are required to furnish complete information in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) prepared for projects and fulfillment of other requirements of the EIA Notification 2006 and Circulars there under, for obtaining early environmental clearance,” she further replied.
Shri added that the EIA Notification 2006 provides for setting up of State Level Impact Assessment Authorities for environmental clearance of projects falling under Category B listed in Schedule to the EIA Notification 2006.
