Chief Minister felicitated by leaders of 12 most backward classes

With a view to ensuring no section of the society lags behind in the march up to development, Chief Minister Narendra today said that Gujarat Government is constantly busy for qualitative improvement of all people.
Replying to his felicitation jointly by the 12 most backward communities of the state under the aegis of Bechar Swami Ati Pacchhat Samaj Vikas Board at the Town Hall here, Mr. Modi said that there is new hope among the most backward communities for development and the government is keen to fulfill their aspirations.
He said that his government’s accords priority to take the poorest sections of the society out of age-old suffering, insult and neglect. The process of development would not stop till everybody doesn’t become a beneficiary. His government would fulfill the dreams of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
He has directed that 25 per cent of the budget amount for the development of scheduled castes be directly spent on the most backward castes. Gujarat has created a record of providing housing units to all the people living Below Poverty Line (BPL) of 0-16 Points. Efforts are on to include all falling between 17-20 Points.
The Chief Minister appealed to backward community people to completely discard social evils and addictions and get education.
Speaking on the occasion, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Fakirbhai Vaghela said it was because the Chief Minister realized the anguish of backward communities that Bechar Swami Ati Pachhat Jati Board has been converted into full-fledged autonomous Corporation with a budget of Rs.1.25-crore.
Education Minister Ramanlal Vora hoped various schemes being implemented by the new corporation would help the target groups. He said the government has allocated Rs.33.crore to commemorate seers and saints belonging to the backward classes.
Earlier, Board Chairman Poonambhai Makwana delivered the welcome address and Director Pravin Pandya proposed a vote of thanks.
Others present on the occasion included Ahmedabad Deputy Mayor Darshanaben and BJP SC Morcha State President Jivraj Chauhan.
