What had happened in Dahod?

A Congress MP and four MLAs trying to stage demonstration ahead of the the Gujarat Day celebration function to be presided over by the state Chief Minister Narendra Modi were detained by police on 1st May.

The Congress MP from Dahod Prabha Taviyad, and four party MLA’s Vaju Panda, Bacchu Kishori, Chandrika Bariya, Dita Macchar were detained by the police when they were trying to demonstrate near the venue.

What did Girija Vyas said?

“She(Prabhaben) is not in position to speak. She is having continuous tear in her eyes. Yesterday it was Gujarat day, and on this occasion, as per the order of privilege committee, and order issued by DOPT after which state government started inviting MPs in functions, our MP Prabhaji also received an invitation and VIP cards. MLAs were also given such cards. When she stepped out from her home to celebrate the Gujarat day in government function, as soon as she came out of the campus, she saw that police was present there to block her path. When she stepped down with VIP pass and said that she had received a pass and she wanted to attend government function, and later wanted to go to parliament, because the procedure of demands for grants was going on. As soon as she showed her pass, police dragged her without seeing the pass and pulled her hair and brought her to jeep. Marks of injuries are visible on her entire body, it’s because police dragged her,” said Girija Vyas.

“She repeatedly said that she was proud of the fact and she was praising that her district was deprived of water, but now water has arrived. She wanted to go to Gujarat day function to convey her wishes to the people. As an MP it was her duty to attend the function and it was her right to participate in government function. She said she wanted to participate in the function. But the way they behaved with her, it was like she was a big decoit or thief. After bringing her to car with her MLAs they were taken to Halol which is 200-300 km away. When they she showed her ticket and asked that they was scheduled to go to Delhi via train in the night, when she showed her ticket, it was confirmed through railway station that whether her ticket was confirmed or not. Such behavior with a parliament member… She screamed for medical treatment, she applied medicine as she was doctor she ws given injection, but even after that she received medical treatment at 8.00 pm. She made a certificate and when it was confirmed that she was going to Delhi, instead of her pre-planned program to start journey from Ratlam, she was made sit in the train at Vadodara railway station,” Girija Vyas added.
