Absence of Naxalism in Gujarat is not just a natural phenomena. It is the result of government’s pro-active efforts in that direction. Look at this example.

In a reply to a question asked in the Gujarat Assembly, Minister of state for Home Shri Rajnibhai Patel informed that in a small corner-side tribal district of Tapi in South Gujarat, police had organized 368 Lok darbar in 365 days in year 2011, while in year 2012 total 267 Lok darbar were organized.

He said the Lok darbar initiative was launched in October 2003. Local politicians, MP, MLA, district panchayat members, social leaders etc are called to Lok darbars. Efforts to make police and people closer to each other are also channelized through Jan Suraksha Setu and Police Mitra Scheme.
